Goldtown made the first jump shortly after the start, awkwardly.
Passing the 600 metres End Of Time had to be steadied to avoid the heels of Father Dex, which shifted in.
T. Ryan rider of Goldtown which finished a distant last, stated to the Stewards that his mount failed to travel at any stage as n his opinion it was not comfortable in todays track conditions. Goldtown will be referred to the Jumps Review Panel following its poor performance.
When questioned regarding Goldtown completing the last two jumps when seemingly out of contention, its rider T. Ryan stated to the Stewards that although his mount was not comfortable in the going it was still jumping cleanly, he therefore decided after jumping the second last obstacle that he would wait and see if the remainder of the field cleared the last obstacle safely. He further stated that after the field had completed the last obstacle he was committed to complete the last obstacle. His comments were noted
