Black Caviar returns to the track

By Neale Donnelley TVN Thursday, January 17, 2013 - 4:06 PM

Black Caviar will make her first appearance on a racetrack for seven months when she has an exhibition gallop between races at Caulfield on February 2.

The Melbourne Racing Club today announced the connections of the great unbeaten mare had agreed to have her gallop before the public.

She hasn't been in front of the public since winning the Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot last June.

February 2 is the MRC's National Jockey Trust Day and this gallop will be an important stepping-stone to having Black Caviar fit to race first-up in the Group 1 $500,000 Lightning Stakes (1000m) at Flemington on February 16.

The MRC will announce more details about the special gallop in the coming weeks.
