BRAD Rawiller posted career win No 2000 when he partnered Bishops Castle to victory in today’s Palcare Plate at Sportingbet Park.
It’s an extraordinary achievement for Rawiller who has ridden 99 winners this season and sometime soon will post his 12th century of winners in a season.
No jockey has ridden more winners in Victoria than Rawiller this millennium.
He booted home his first winner in 1995 - Friendless Babe for his master Allan Browell at Kyneton
What made Rawiller’s accomplishment more remarkable is that he broke his foot at Terang earlier this month - an injury that usually requires a six-week healing period.
Rawiller reduced that time out of the saddle by half and although he is walking with a noticeable limp he certainly didn’t feel any pain as Bishops Castle broke its maiden status.
“It’s astounding to think I’ve ridden 2000 winners and I’m 34,” Rawiller said.
“I love being at the races and I don’t mind doing a bit of hard work.”
