RUTH Bradley made it successive wins in the Ord Minnett Traralgon Cup with a dashing display on rank outsider King’s A Star.
Bradley won last year’s Cup on Firejet and today she partnered King’s A Star for Mark Loft in the $51,000 Traralgon Cup.
She took King’s A Star to front before the home corner and the five-year-old rallied strongly to hold off all his rivals to win by a head
from Two Sugars, the $2.80 favourite with a long neck to Niptious, $14, third
“He was on the steel the whole time, I thought he might settle better, but when those two ran away in front I thought ‘I don’t want to
go after them, I’ll just take a sit and save him’,” Bradley told TVN.
Loft said that he decided to “have a swing and we hit a six” with King’s A Star, which eased from $21 to $26.
“It’s been a race in our mind for a fair while and it’s great that he could pull it off. He just tries his guts out this little horse,
I’m just over the moon,” Loft said.
