Race 1 – BMW HANDICAP - 2000 metres:
Trainer Mr M Kent was fined $200 for his race morning notification of A McCabe as rider of Epingle (NZ) in this event. Mr Kent was advised that should he breach this area of the rules again in future, the fines will be increased.
Near the 1400m Comment Ca Va raced tightly on the inside of Aeronwy (IRE) for several strides.
Rounding the home turn Ballynova (NZ), when weakening, was tightened for room between Pete’s Show and Ice Diva which was taken in slightly by Epingle (NZ).
Also rounding the home turn Comment Ca Va was steadied when held up for clear running.
Race 2 – BLUE DIAMOND NOMS CLOSE 3 JULY HANDICAP - 1000 metres:
Proper Madam jumped away awkwardly.
Nella Fantasia was slow to begin (one length) and then shortly after the start accidentally clipped the heels of That’s My Name which had shifted in.
Shortly after the start Galvez was tightened for room between May Rain and Demasheen which both shifted ground.
Rounding the home turn Galvez was held up for clear running until passing the 300m.
Proper Madam had some difficulty obtaining clear running in the straight.
D Dunn, rider of That’s My Name, advised that after showing some early speed the filly raced greenly and hung in in the straight when weakening.
D Yendall, rider of Choiciti, reported at scale that the filly did not appreciate racing inside of other runners today.
Race 3 – DESIGN TO PRINT INTERNATIONAL HANDICAP - 1000 metres:
Prior to correct weight S Wynne, rider of Slewsay second placegetter, viewed the Stewards film before deciding not to lodge an objection. It was established that passing the 100m Glenmaura (D Dunn) shifted out slightly towards Slewsay and when doing so Slewsay was accidentally struck over the nose by the whip of D Dunn. Stewards were also satisfied there was insufficient grounds for an objection.
Bay’s Edge, which had been slow to begin, was then checked when tightened for room by Barrett’s Mark which jumped in abruptly.
Also at the start Black Booty jumped inwards and hampered Forever The Chill
Near the 900m Barrett’s Mark began to race ungenerously, when being eased and straightened to avoid causing interference to runners to his inside.
Approaching the 800m Captivating Lady had to be eased to avoid the heels of Slewsay (S Wynne) which was shifting in. S Wynne was notified to exercise more care when shifting ground.
J Todd, rider of Black Booty, stated that the filly never travelled today and was under pressure in the early stages of the straight.
Race 4 – QUERCIA CAPITAL HANDICAP - 1000 metres:
Rounding the home turn Grand Britannia was held up for clear running for several strides and then upon straightening was disappointed for running before switching to the outside of Limerock.
B Wallace, rider of Johnny Fiasco, advised that in his view the gelding did not handle today’s track conditions. A post race veterinary examination of Johnny Fiasco revealed no abnormalities and a swab sample was taken for analysis.
C Newitt could offer no excuses for the disappointing performance of Exceed And Excite.
A post race veterinary examination of Sandusky City (NZ) revealed no abnormalities.
Loaded Owners bled from both nostrils during the race and will now incur the mandatory three months suspension from racing.
Race 5 – GUINOT SKINCARE HANDICAP - 1600 metres:
Shortly after straightening Pilbara Sand, which was had been held up for clear running, obtained a narrow run to the inside of Min River. Approaching the 200m Min River, when being restrained to avoid the heels of Sport Chic, then shifted in and tightened Pilbara Sand. Min River was then held up for running for the remainder of the race.
Ms J Scott, trainer of Pass The Post, advised that the filly did not appreciate the very heavy track at Cranbourne at its previous start and had worked well since that run.
Race 6 – SPORTINGBET HANDICAP - 1440 metres:
Trainer Mr C Little was fined $200 for his race morning notification of J Duffy as rider of Tanah Lot (NZ) in this event. Mr Little was advised that should he breach this area of the rules again in future, the fines will be increased.
After the running of Race 3 connections advised that Mumslad will be ridden forward today due to the increase in distance as compared to its last start. Mumslad was ridden accordingly.
Diggersanddealers raced wide without cover for the event.
Approaching the 200m Diggersanddealers was steadied when tightened for room between Mumslad and Cross Street which both shifted ground slightly.
D Yendall (Cross Street) was severely reprimanded for using his whip seven times prior to the 100m in a forehand manner.
Race 7 – THE ORION EXPEDITION CRUISE HANDICAP - 2430 metres:
At the start Wells jumped awkwardly and in onto Fitoussi.
Passing the 1400m Fitoussi had to be checked to avoid the heels of Fabriano. Wells, Tarawera and Retlaw Lad, which were following, were all hampered in consequence.
Near the 1200m Fitoussi was checked to avoid the heels of Countcool.
Over the concluding stages Beer Garden raced tightly on the inside of Paramour which had been shifting in the going. As a result of this, C Newitt (Beer Garden, sixth placegetter) had to stop riding which may have affected fifth placing.
Rounding the home turn Fabriano was checked when tightened for room between Fitoussi and Balmoral (NZ) (A Kasim) which shifted in before being straightened by its rider. A Kasim was severely reprimanded for permitting his mount to shift in when not sufficiently clear.
Race 8 – CATANACH’S JEWELLERS HANDICAP - 1800 metres:
Near the 600m Bianmick raced tightly on the inside of Bold Trojan, which had shifted in.
J Rule (Golago) was fined $200 for using his whip seven times forehand prior to the 100m.
D Nikolic rider of L’esprit, which had been fractious behind the barriers, advised that the gelding was allowed to stride forward in the early stages to take up a forward position rather than being caught wide without cover mid-field. He further advised that L’esprit will now be spelled and Stewards will confirm this with the stable. A post race veterinary examination of L’esprit revealed no abnormalities.

Race 2 – VIATEK SV 3YO MAIDEN PLATE - 1000 metres:
Trainer Mr R Kingston informed Stewards that Born To Survive has pulled up well following her disappointing run at Geelong and it is the stable’s intention to continue on with the filly’s preparation.
Race 4 – GEELONG CUP PACKAGES MAIDEN PLATE - 1900 metres:
Trainer Mr D O’Brien reported to Stewards that Passion And Power has pulled up well following his disappointing run at Geelong and it is the stable’s intention to continue on with the gelding’s preparation.
Race 5 – REX GORREL VOLKSWAGEN MAIDEN PLATE - 1900 metres:
Trainer Mr J McArdle reported to Stewards that Heavenly Jewel has been sent for a spell following her disappointing run at Geelong.

Race 2 – KEN COX HANDICAP - 1420 metres:
Stable representative Mr Paul Snowden reported to Stewards that Spinmeister has been sent for a spell following his disappointing run at Flemington.
Race 7 – 2012 ALL VICTORIAN SPRINT SERIES HEAT 8 - 1000 metres:
Trainer Mr P Healey reported to Stewards that Galbraith has put up with filling in the off side joint following his disappointing performance at Flemington. It is the stable’s intention to send Galbraith to the paddock for 10 days and the gelding will trial before resuming at the races.
Trainer Mr M Webb reported to Stewards that Johannapine has pulled up fair following her disappointing run at Flemington. It was reported that the filly has left a lot of feed over night and she will be seen by the stable’s chiropractor in the coming days. Bloods will also be taken and results given when available.

Race 2 – ADD PRINT SV 2YO FILLIES MIDEN PLATE – 1200 Metres:
Trainer Mr B Cozamanis explained that Windblast was hampered at the entrance to the home straight but had pulled up well following yesterday’s disappointing performance. Mr Cozamanis added it was his intention to continue with the filly’s preparation.
