L Currie (Patricia Dawn) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under the provisions of AR137(a), the careless riding being that approaching the 700m he permitted his mount to shift in when not sufficiently clear of Louvre Lady and at the same time easing his mount resulting in Louvre Lady having to be checked and shift out to avoid the heels of Patricia Dawn. L Currie had his licence to ride in races suspended for a period to commence at the conclusion of the day meeting on December 15 and to expire at midnight December 23, a total of twelve race meetings (three city, nine country). In assessing penalty Stewards took into account the careless riding was in the mid-range.

J Noonan (Louvre Lady) was reprimanded and advised to exercise greater care after permitting his mount to shift in passing the 200m, tightening the running of All Ruby and Ode, and advised that he should have made a greater effort to straighten his mount sooner than he did on this occasion.
