Race 1NURSERY RIDGE ESTATE WINES MAIDEN PLATE - 1000 metres:

Acting on a confirmed telephone call from trainer, Mr B Keirl, that Cocotero was unable to be loaded onto the float, the mare was declared a late withdrawal at 11:10 am.

Annotator commenced awkwardly.

Money Box jumped out at the start, inconveniencing Thor’s Goddess, which had also been slightly slow to begin.

J Rule, rider of She’s Got Grunt, was questioned regarding his riding of the mare, particularly in the early stages of the straight.  J Rule stated that She’s Got Grunt had shown a tendency in its races to fade out in the later stages, as a result the instructions were to keep the mare balanced for as long as possible before making his run late.  After viewing the film, J Rule conceded that it may have been advantageous to place the mare under pressure earlier than he did, however was still of the belief that She’s Got Grunt failed to finish off the race as expected. His comments were noted.

A post-race veterinary examination of Moon Glitter revealed a slower than normal recovery rate.

Race 4ONLY A LITTLE BIT OVER – TAC MAIDEN PLATE - 2000 metres:

Trainer, J Lake, advised Stewards prior to race two that it was his intention to have Sameral ridden further back in today’s event, as it had been failing to finish its races off.  Sameral was ridden accordingly.

Passing the winning post on the first occasion Moment To Shine was inclined to lay outwards, and approaching the 1600m had to be steadied off the heels of Miss Fetarde.

Bells Of Brooklyn raced wide in the early stages, until being allowed to stride forward by its rider and obtain a position near the leader at the 1400m.

Approaching the 1200m Compelled shifted out to avoid the heels of Boss’s Choice and in doing so took Sameral wider on the track; as a result Sameral was placed in a three wide position without cover for the remainder of the event.

Moment To Shine was held up when unable to improve its position for a considerable distance approaching the home turn.

Approaching the 500m Bells Of Brooklyn had to be eased, when briefly tightened for room between Dame D’Or and Gaelstorm, which shifted in slightly.

Race 6LISTON LANDERS CHARTERED ACCOUNTANTS DONALD CUP - 1620 metres:

De Mars was slow to begin.

C Lindop, pleaded guilty to a charge under AR137(a) for careless riding in that she allowed her mount to shift in near the 200m when insufficiently clear of Montjeu Madame which was taken in having to be checked further De Mars, which was racing to the inside of Montjeu Madame was also taken inwards, having to be checked off the heels of Redhead Rage.  In assessing the matter Stewards conceded that there was a slight shift outwards by Redhead Rage, which contributed to a minor degree the interference to De Mars. C Lindop had her licence to ride in races suspended for a period to commence midnight 13 November 2011 and expire midnight 24 November 2011, a total of 11 meetings (two metropolitan, nine country).  In assessing penalty Stewards took into account C Lindop’s good riding record and deemed the incident to be in the mid range.

Over the concluding stages Amerryking had difficulty obtaining clear running.
