Acting on a confirmed telephone call from trainer Jason Hunter that Lightning Legs had been injured en-route to the course, Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Lightning Legs on veterinary advice at 11:00 am.

Destiny Deauxville, Maddy’s Angel and Jay Cee all commenced awkwardly.

Passing the 600m Jay Cee had to be eased to avoid the heels of Destiny Deauxville which shifted in slightly.

Clear Force laid in under pressure in the straight.

A post-race veterinary examination of Jay Cee, which performed poorly, revealed no abnormalities.

Race 2PEA CO MAIDEN PLATE - 1350 metres:

Lobbs Bridge commenced awkwardly.

Suryana jumped out at the start and made contact with Prospector’s Gold.

Mr Barnbougle over-raced when being restrained in the early stages.

When improving to the inside of Sovereign State, approaching the 600m, Prospector’s Gold had to eased off the heels when that gelding shifted in.

Approaching the 1000m Lobbs Bridge got its head up when over-racing.  Apprentice Erhan Kacmaz reported to the Stewards that his mount raced keenly in the early stages, before laying out for the remainder of the event.

Passing the 1000m Persian Ace had to be eased when tightened for room by Suryana, which shifted ground slightly.

Apprentice Zac Scullie was severely reprimanded for weighing in one kilo over his declared weight.

A post-race veterinary examination of Satin ‘N’ Rose, which performed below market expectations,  revealed no abnormalities.

Following the running of race two a number of riders expressed concern to the Stewards in regards to a section of the racetrack near the 600m that was rated inferior to the remainder of the track. Subsequently a delegation of riders and Stewards examined that section of the track before deeming it safe to continue racing, however noted that that section would be monitored throughout the day.

Race 3DONALD LIGHT HARNESS CLUB F & M 0-62 HANDICAP - 1620 metres:

Acting on a confirmed telephone call from trainer Jason Hunter that Emma’s Blossom had been injured en-route to the course Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Emma’s Blossom on veterinary advice at 11:00 am.

Prior to commencement of this meeting trainer Mick Clark advised Stewards that it was his intention to have Vertigo ridden more forward than at its most previous start when it settled too far back. Vertigo was ridden accordingly.

Mary Jo, Camp Choice and Queen Of Franks were slow to begin.

Chicago Miss raced wide without cover in the early and middle stages.

Passing the 900m Vertigo had to be eased off the heels of Chicago Miss, which shifted in.

In the early part of the straight Kimiko was held up for clear running.


Prior to the running of this race trainer Simon Morish advised Stewards that it was his intention to have Ourgame ridden in a more forward position, due  to the increased distance of today’s event.  Ourgame was ridden accordingly.

Stewards fined apprentice Zac Scullie $100 for failing to claim his full allowance in this event.  In allowing Z Scullie to ride Miss Nebraska, Stewards took onboard a submission from trainer Collin Fletcher in regards to Z Scullie being permitted to ride the mare.

Prior to correct weight Daniel Moor, rider of second placegetter Ourgame, viewed the Stewards patrol film before deciding not to lodge an objection.

Linka began awkwardly.

Aussie Oasis and I’m Kosher raced wide in the early stages.

Approaching the 700m I’m Kosher shifted to the outside of Oomoo Lad, which was weakening, and in doing so made contact with Kings Of The Cross, which in turn had improved to the outside of I’m Kosher.  As a result of this contact I’m Kosher lost ground.

Passing the 600m I’m Kosher had to be eased off the heels of Oomoo Lad, which was weakening, and in doing so shifted further out on the course.

On straightening War Is Over was held up for clear running for a short distance.

Approaching the 200m Whatadimwitt shifted in and bumped Ourgame, resulting in that mare becoming unbalanced. 

Passing the 200m Kyby Lady was disappointed for clear running between Big City Dreams and His Royal Tea, which both shifted ground slightly.

Whatadimwitt, which raced wide in the early stages, was allowed to stride forward by its rider to obtain a forward position near the 1200m.

Jarrod Fry was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under the provisions of AR137(a), for permitting his mount, Big City Dreams, to shift out approaching the 100m when insufficiently clear of Inala Magnus, taking that runner out onto King Of The Cross, which had to be checked off that gelding’s heels.  J Fry had his licence to ride in races suspended for a period to commence at midnight Tuesday, 20 November 2012 and to expire at midnight Wednesday, 28November 2012, a total of nine meetings (two metropolitan and seven provincial).  In assessing penalty Stewards deemed the incident to be in the low range and took into account J Fry’s good recent record.

Race 5REVTOY TRANSPORT / SIGNS R US 0-68 HANDICAP - 2000 metres:

On jumping away Twin Eagles was tightened for room between Perisher Blue and Trebbiano, when both shifted ground.

Trebbiano raced wide, without cover throughout.

Approaching the 200m Brilliant Park shifted off the heels of Command The Right, when that gelding shifted out slightly.

N Stanley, rider of North Street, had to be replaced after failing to arrive on course.  It was established that N Stanley had encountered transport difficulties.  N Stanley was advised that he must produce to the Stewards the relevant administrative evidence in relation to his failure to attend.

Race 6CENTREBET DONALD CUP - 1620 metres:

Port Vell and Midnight Glory were slow to begin.

Approaching the 1300m Evenmoreaction shifted in and made contact with Magic Me, resulting in Magic Me having to be steadied off the heels of Hinchley Wood.

Holly McKechnie, rider of Palmyra Boy, accidentally dropped her whip near the 150m.

When questioned regarding his tactics in leading today Ibrahim Gundogdu, rider of Allanthus, stated to the Stewards that as his mount was one paced it was his instructions to lead and settle his mount in the early stages with the intention of placing his mount under pressure at the 800m in the hope of causing the other runners to get off the bit and having to chase him down. I Gundogdu further stated that after responding to his riding from the 800m, Allanthus was a beaten horse at the 200m, where it weakened to place last. Stewards noted I Gundogdu’s comments.

Race 7O’CONNORS CASE IH BM72 HANDICAP - 1000 metres:

Jack Hill, rider of the second placed Wee Mac, viewed the official film before deciding not to lodge an objection. Stewards also viewed the footage and decided to not proceed with an objection prior to correct weight being declared.

Lorbri commenced awkwardly.

After travelling a short distance, Sutanoc got its head up when being eased off the heels of Spartan Warrior.

Resolvere raced wide, without cover for the majority of the event.

Passing the 200m Spartan Warrior, which was laying in under pressure, shifted in and brushed Loaded Owners.  Shortly after this, Spartan Warrior which continued to lay in then came together with Wee Mac.

Daniel Moor reported on return to scale that Sutanoc had a tendency to lay out for the majority of the race.

Race 8taltarni winery 0-62 handicap - 1350 metres:

As no suitable rider was available Stewards permitted apprentice Jake Bayliss to ride Dazziki.

Correct weight was delayed to ascertain whether Mondini was afforded a far start.  It was established that as the start was affected Mondini reared almost dislodging its rider, Nikita McLean, resulting in the colt losing significant ground and taking no competitive part in the event.  As this incident was deemed to be the fault of Mondini it was deemed a starter and correct weight was declared.  At a subsequent enquiry Jim Mason, trainer of Mondini, was advised that the colt would be required to obtain a further approval to race prior to accepting for its next start.

Dazziki commenced awkwardly and lost ground.

Stab Pass raced wide without cover in the early stages.

Approaching the 800m Charzillion had to be eased to avoid the heels of Lord Lucan (Harry Coffey), which shifted in.  Apprentice H Coffey will be reprimanded for shifting ground when not sufficiently clear and advised to exercise more care when in similar circumstances.

For some distance passing the 800m Aquae Sulis was taken wider on the track by Whooroo (Jack Hill), which shifted outwards when improving its position.  J Hill will be advised that to ensure that he is clear of other runners when shifting ground in similar circumstances in future.

Approaching the winning post Dazziki dipped.

Near the 50m Whooroo shifted in under pressure and bumped Aquae Sulis.
