French stayer Brigantin will not race in Australia this autumn.
Formerly trained at Chantilly in France by the great Andre Fabre, Brigantin has been left with Pat Carey in Australia since coming out of quarantine at the Werribee centre.
Carey this morning told TVN the horse had “several issues” and that he would not be racing in the autumn.
“He’s come out of quarantine with a few issues and I can tell you he won’t be having an autumn preparation,” Carey said.
Brigantin had just one run in Australia when a battling third behind Gatewood in the Geelong Cup.
He did not make the cut-off for the Melbourne Cup but he was injured by Cup time and could not have taken his place anyway.
