Extreme weather conditions caused today’s Gosford meeting to be postponed.

Temperatures hit 43 degrees when stewards consulted jockeys and took veterinary advice suggesting it was dangerous for both horse and participants.

Acting under the provisions of the Level 2 Racing NSW Hot Weather policy, stewards postponed the twilight meeting.

Stewards’ said with the forecast suggesting there was no relief from the heat in the short-term, the meeting should be postponed.

Greyhound meetings at Wentworth Park and The Gardens have also been cancelled in NSW today because of the weather.
