Gucci Stakes: What the jockeys said

By Carl Di Iorio TVN Thursday, November 8, 2012 - 3:11 PM

Below are all the comments from selected jockeys who rode in today’s 150,000 listed Gucci Icons of Heritage Stakes (1200m) at Flemington.

Shamal Wind (FIRST): “She gave me good feel last start but I wasn’t sure how she’d measure out today. I was just sitting and sitting and everything was gone around me so I gave her a little squeeze and she just accelerated really well. She gave me the feel of a good horse and I love the way she just sat in behind today and never touched the bridle.”  - Mark Zahra

Brave Soul (SECOND): “She ran really good and tried very hard, it was a great run.”  - Blake Shinn

Isabella Snowflake (THIRD): “She tried hard.”  - Craig Newitt

Sheza Single Girl (FIFTH):  “She got lost down the straight the first time. I’m sure 1400 metres at Sandown next time she’ll be hard to beat.” - Michael Walker

Seaside (SIXTH): “Improve on the run.”  - Corey Brown

Snipzu (SEVENTH): “Better today in daytime with the blinkers off but still she’s just mentally costing herself three lengths.” - Craig Williams

Burndiniburn (EIGHTH): “She wanted to lay in.”  - Nick Hall

Zarzing (NINTH):  “She’ll be a nice horse in time to come.”  - Dwayne Dunn

Saturn Rock (TENTH): “She just doesn’t handle firm tracks.”  - Glen Boss

Agueda (ELEVENTH): “She’s had enough.”  - Damien Oliver

Cavalry Rose (Last):  “Did nothing.”  - Hugh Bowman
