RACING Victoria stewards will decide later this week if they will proceed with an inquiry into alleged race day treatment by trainer Jim Conlan.
Stewards today took further evidence from Conlan, his veterinary surgeon Eoin Kelly and stable employee Brett Stow.
Members of the Compliance Assurance Team found a syringe in a bin marked ‘Rekindled Interest’ post-race when they visited Conlan’s stables on the morning that Rekindled Interest was to contest the Turnbull Stakes at Flemington.
The inquiry was told that Rekindled Interest had, in fact, been treated the day before and that another horse Taxi Joe had been treated on the Saturday.
RV chairman Terry Bailey said stewards would consider the latest evidence before deciding what action, if any, would be taken.
