Michelle Payne back riding trackwork

Michelle Payne was today given the all-clear by her medical team to begin trackwork riding.

She has confirmed this afternoon with racingnetwork she would be riding trackwork at her brother Patrick's Plumpton farm, near Rockbank, tomorrow morning.

Michelle has been on the comeback trail since her horror fall at Ararat on September 12.

She fractured her T5 and T6 vertebrae as well as again suffering serious concussion and facial lacerations.

Michelle, just back from a week in Hong Kong with her sisters and extended family, said she was thrilled to be given the all-clear to again start trackwork riding.

"It's been a tough battle but we've made it through the other end and now the really hard stuff begins," she said.

"Getting race fit again and the only way to do that is trackwork," she added.

Michelle said she was in no hurry to ride in races again and would only do so when she felt her body and mind were ready.
