Following consistent rain from 10.00am with occasional heavy showers, stewards met with a delegation of senior jockeys shortly after arrival on course. The track was inspected by both parties and Club officials, in particular sections near the 400 metres and near the 200 metres were of concern. After consideration jockeys expressed concerns with footing in the areas inspected and some surface water and stated that in their opinion the track was not suitable for racing.
After further consideration stewards in consultation with Club officials, decided to abandon the meeting at 12.40pm.
