Newitt reminded of Samaready

JUST how good is Miracles Of Life, spectacular winner of yesterday’s Blue Diamond Preview fillies division?

Well, Craig Newitt likened the unbeaten South Australian to last year’s Blue Diamond winner Samaready.

“She reminds me of Samaready, she just did it so effortlessly,” Newitt said.

Newitt said the step up to 1200 metres won’t be an issue for Miracles Of Life given the way  the filly settled then exploded when apprentice Lauren Stojakovic asked her to extend.

He said he could not see any filly that finished behind Miracles Of Life beating her home and pointed to the eight-tenths of a second time differential the Daniel Clarken-trained filly had over the colts and geldings.

Asked if not running in the Blue Diamond Prelude (1100 m) at Caulfield on February 9 would be an issue, Newitt replied: “Why would you run her?”

Vlad Duric said Diamond Glow, runner-up behind Miracles Of Life, pulled up “a bit flat” and Peter Moody confirmed today that she and stablemate Mystical Miss would now go to the paddock.

“She could not have beaten the winner, she was just way too good,” Duric said.
