O'Shea charging ahead

Randwick trainer John O’Shea is happy to keep raising the bar with his exciting three-year-old sprinter Charge Account.

The explosive winner of his past two starts, starting an odds-on favourite in both, will tackle the Listed $100,000 Fireball Quality over 1100 metres at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday.

When the fields came out this morning O’Shea was happy to see the gelding drawn six of 10.

“He’s a nice horse Charge Account, and he continues to improve,” O’Shea told racingnetwork.

“That’s a nice barrier to get the right run and I’m tipping he’ll take some holding out again,” he added.

When asked what the long-term plans for Charge Account were, O’Shea said he didn’t have any.

“We’re just going through the classes with him and we’ll see where that takes us, no big plans at all with him,” he said.

O’Shea will also saddle-up blueblood two-year-old filly Romantic Moon in the Group 2 $200,000 Silver Shadow Stakes.

The More Than Ready filly has drawn the outside barrier – 13 of 13 – something O’Shea was not pleased about.

“It’s an awful gate and she’s going to need luck, but having said that, she does have good ability and we’re very pleased with her,” he said.

Romantic Moon has raced only once for an impressive three-length win in a $35,000 Maiden at Gosford on December 19.
