Sydney trainer John O’Shea has been in a good place for two weeks now.
Following the stunning win by his gun mare Sea Siren in the Group 1 $750, 000 Manikato Stakes at Moonee Valley on Cox Plate Eve, O’Shea has been walking around with his chest puffed out and a slight grin on his face.
“She’s in very, very good order. She was ready to go at Moonee Valley but I knew we had left something in the tank and everything has gone right since,” O’Shea told TVN this morning.
Sea Siren had her final gallop in preparation for tomorrow’s $1 million Patinack Farm Classic at Flemington on Thursday morning.
“The gallop was perfect, just where we wanted her to be and she’ll go into the Patinack without an excuse,” O’Shea added.
Sea Siren has drawn perfectly in the middle of the field in barrier nine and will have the services of the in-form Jim Cassidy, fresh from his win yesterday in the $1 million Crown Oaks.
“There’s no better rider in big races in Australia than Jim Cassidy – he showed that again yesterday.”
O’Shea will freshen Sea Siren after she runs tomorrow before taking for to Hong Kong for the $US1.8 million Hong Kong International Sprint on December 9.
Cassidy has also been booked to ride her in Hong Kong.
Bet365 has Sea Siren marked $4 favourite for tomorrow’s Patinack Farm Classic.
