With James McDonald’s appeal against his Melbourne Cup day suspension on Cup runner-up Fiorente being dismissed today, several key riding changes are forthcoming.

Hugh Bowman has picked up the ride on odds-on favourite Silent Achiever in the $300,000 Matriarch Stakes, replacing McDonald.

Bowman will also ride Rolling Pin in the Emirates Stakes after his mount, Streama, was scratched this morning after heat was detected in a leg.

Brenton Avdulla has replaced McDonald on Secret Admirer in the Emirates Stakes, while Craig Williams has replaced him in the Queen Elizabeth Stakes on the John O’Shea-trained Lightinthenite.
