BLUE Diamond winner Samaready remains an autumn carnival player, albeit in Sydney only.
Mick Price received the good news on Friday that x-rays on Samaready’s front fetlock were all clear.
Price said that Samaready would spend another week in pre-training before entering his Caulfield stables in the first week of January.
He said that Samaready, a winner of her first four starts before finishing third in the Golden Slipper behind Pierro, would not be forward enough to contest the Black Caviar Stakes, Oakleigh Plate or Newmarket Handicap.
Price noted that a race like Group 1 $350,000 Galaxy (1100 m) at Rosehill on March 30 may be an option.
X-rays taken in late November highlighted what Price termed a "query" on a fetlock.
“I’m not sure what the initial x-ray was all about, but the x-ray taken last Wednesday were all clear and she will now come in for an autumn preparation,” Price said.
“I don’t want to rush her because she has had a long time out, but I think she will end up in Sydney - she goes good that way.”
