Local trainer Tracey Bartley cannot see any reason why he shouldn’t run his quality mare San Zaim in tomorrow’s $100,000 Belle Of The Turf Stakes at Gosford.
The five-year-old ran a brave third behind Circle Of Power at Warwick Farm last Saturday, but Bartley says he is confident she will back-up well at Gosford tomorrow.
”She’s done really well since the weekend,” Bartley told racingnetwork today.
“I’ve never backed her up before but she seems to have done everything right since last Saturday, and it hasn’t knocked her around, so I can’t see why she wouldn’t run,” he added.
By the little known Green Desert horse Za-Im, San Zaim has won eight races from 26 starts for Bartley and already won in excess of $185,000 in stakes.
“She’s been a really good mare to us over the time. You can tell from her form she’s honest and consistent and always runs to her best,” he said.
San Zaim is marked third favourite at $7 in early markets for tomorrow’s mares feature, with Jeff Penza to ride.
