Race 1Railway Club Hotel SV 2yo maiden PLATE - 1000 metres: 

At the start Ava’s Delight was tightened for room between Maharaaj (NZ) which shifted out slightly and Soldier’s March which jumped away awkwardly, shifted in abruptly and as a result of this the gelding’s rider J Mott was almost dislodged. 

Also at the start Chilli Beach had to be checked when tightened for room between Navorina and Babur which shifted out.

Heroic Tale was slow to begin. 

Ginger’s Gem dwelt at the start. 

In the middle stages Fremont Street and Samuelsson both raced greenly. 

Approaching the 500m That’s My Name raced in restricted room for a short distance to the inside of Navorina. 

Prior to the home turn Ava’s Delight was held up for a clear run. 

Near the 300m Samuelsson was hampered when tightened for room by Fremont Street which shifted in when laying in before being straightened by its rider. 

That’s My Name had difficulty obtaining clear running until passing the 200m. 

From shortly after straightening and until near the 200m Maharaaj (NZ) had difficulty in obtaining clear running. After obtaining clear running Maharaaj (NZ) was then inclined to race greenly.

In the straight Ava’s Delight layed in under pressure. 

Navorina lost its near side front plate during the running of the race. 

Race 2talwood park aquatrainer maiden plate - 1300 metres: 

At the start Magic Tucker jumped away awkwardly and lost ground. 

Also at the start Monaco Vale jumped away awkwardly shifted in and made contact with Daily Planet (NZ). 

Am I There Yet was slow to jump away, made heavy contact with Izared and as a result Am I There Yet shifted in and clipped the heels of Itzablur.  As a result Am I There Yet lost considerable ground. 

In the early and middle stages Daily Planet (NZ) overraced badly. 

Near the 600m Magic Tucker broke down and was retired from the event by its rider L Coffey.  Itzablur and Captain Stipo (NZ) which were following Magic Tucker at this point were severely hampered as a result.  Subsequent to the event the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon reported that Magic Tucker had sustained a fracture to the off fore fetlock. Magic Tucker was humanely euthanized. 

Prior to and rounding the home turn Am I There Yet and Bellasinga were both held up for clear running. 

After passing the 200m Am I There Yet when improving had to change course to obtain clear running. 

Stroke Of Genius raced wide without cover. 

G Murphy rider of Am I There Yet, 4 placegetter, was fined the sum of $200 for failing to ride the gelding out over the concluding stages.   In arriving at this decision, Stewards were not fully satisfied that G Murphy’s actions had altered the placings of the race. 

D Yendall rider of Bellasinga was fined the sum of $300 for using his whip on eight occasions prior to the 100m, two of which were in consecutive strides.  In assessing penalty Stewards took into account D Yendall’s record in this area. 

Race 3centrebet don’t just watch it maiden plate - 1300 metres: 

Doug Harrison, trainer of Electronic Dancer was fined the sum of $30 for use of the club colors. 

Green Roller jumped away awkwardly and then shortly after the start was tightened for room between Electronic Dancer and Coolamon. 

Kem Heart was slow to jump away. 

Miss Funny Money also jumped away awkwardly. 

For a short distance prior to straightening Green Roller had some difficulty obtaining clear running. 

At the entrance to the straight Coolamon shifted out.  Grand Orator which was following Coolamon also shifted out at this point and made heavy contact with Electronic Dancer which in turn shifted out and also made contact with Seven Mile King.

Approaching the 100m Coolamon (J McNeil) which had commenced to weaken shifted in and hampered My Perdita.  J McNeil was notified to exercise greater care in future.

For the majority of the straight My Perdita layed out under pressure. 

D Yendall rider of Electronic Dancer which performed below market expectations explained that although the gelding was obliged to race wide throughout Electronic Dancer was disappointing. A subsequent veterinary examination of Electronic Dancer revealed the gelding showing a poor recovery rate. 

Race 4 – Chatswood stud sv 3yo fillies maiden PLATE - 1400 metres: 

On arrival on course R Bradley was examined by the Club’s Doctor and passed fit to ride. 

The explanation of Mr R Mutimer trainer of Outbursts for the use of the Club colors was accepted.

At the start Miss Pimpernel jumped away awkwardly, shifted in and tightened Annotator.  As a result of this Annotator lost ground.  Miss Pimpernel continued to race greenly throughout the event. 

Approaching the 500m Velvet Sky which was inclined to race greenly had to be steadied off the heels of Katerina (NZ) (M Walker) which shifted out to improve.  M Walker was notified to exercise greater care when in similar circumstances. 

Prior to the home turn Cent To Save (NZ) was held up for a clear run. 

Approaching the winning post Hannaism had to be steadied to avoid the heels of Amazonia. 

Outbursts which had performed poorly was examined by the Club’s veterinary surgeon who reported that the filly had suffered a lacerated tongue and was also showing a slower than normal recovery rate.  Mr R Mutimer trainer of Outbursts was notified that a warning for being uncompetitive would be recorded against the filly. 

On scales, J Benbow rider of Miss Pimpernel reported that the filly raced very greenly throughout. 

Miss Pimpernel which had performed poorly was examined by the Club’s veterinary surgeon who reported no abnormalities with the filly.  Mr S Pritchard-Gordon trainer of Miss Pimpernel was notified that a warning for being uncompetitive would be recorded against the filly. 

On scales Brad Rawiller rider of Annotator which performed below market expectations explained that in his opinion the filly was extremely disappointing and throughout the course of the race Annotator did not feel fully comfortable in its action.  A subsequent veterinary examination revealed the filly was showing signs of slight lames in the off fore leg.  Mr Weir the filly’s trainer is not required to submit a veterinary clearance prior to the filly racing again. 

Race 5mitchelton wines maiden plate - 2000 metres:

As no suitable senior rider was available Stewards permitted Ms J Beriman to be substituted for Ms R Bradley as the rider of Duroche (NZ).

Mianzar jumped away awkwardly. 

Shortly after the start Alvida Rock (NZ) and Mesquite (NZ) were tightened for room between Minutor Tabernus which shifted out slightly and Passion And Power which shifted in slightly. 

In the early and middle stages Padrao had a tendency to overrace. 

Cain’s Candy was obliged to race wide without cover. 

Near the 600m Heisman shifted out to improve and hampered Jolts. 

Nathan Rose rider of Run Digger Run pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding, the careless riding being that near the 400m he permitted his mount to shift out to obtain a run to the outside of Kiss McDove and in doing so made contact with Cain’s Candy.  As a result that mare shifted out and tightened Shirlaski onto Padrao.  As a result of this incident Shirlaski clipped the heels of Padrao almost fell and almost dislodged its rider Ben Knobel.  Mesquite (NZ) and Minutor Tabernus which were following were hampered in consequence. 

Nathan Rose’s licence to ride in races was suspended from midnight July 22, 2012 and to expire at midnight on August 5, 2012.  (14 meetings, 5 metropolitan, 9 provincial).  In assessing penalty Stewards considered the incident to be in the high range, Nathan Rose’s good record and guilty plea and also that there was a marginal shift inwards from Padrao. 

Shirlaski which was eased down in the straight by its rider after suffering interference near the 400m was examined by the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon who reported that mare was lame in the left hind leg.  Mr G Hayes trainer of Shirlaski was notified that prior to the mare racing he must be in receipt of a veterinary certificate of soundness. 

Subsequent to the event the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon reported that Passion And Power had pulled up in a severely distressed manner.  Mr D O’Brien was notified that prior to Passion And Power racing again he must be in receipt of a veterinary clearance for the gelding. 

Race 6iasbet.com 0-62 handicap - 2000 metres:

After the running of the first race, Mr J Symons co-trainer of Exceed Us indicated it was the stable’s intention to ride the mare in a more forward position today, as the mare had been performing poorly being ridden back.  After jumping away awkwardly Exceed Us was obliged to race wide without cover before obtaining a position outside the leader near the 100m. 

Paul Maher trainer of Lost Chord was fined the sum of $50 for late notification of D Holland as rider of the mare. 

Exceed Us jumped away awkwardly which resulted in its rider Omar Ay striking his foot against the barrier stall gate. 

Near the 1000m Torquay Road was steadied off the heels of Exceed Us which shifted in. 

From the middle stages onwards Pauling was obliged to race wide without cover. 

Subsequent to the race the Club’s Doctor examined Omar Ay rider of Exceed Us who had struck his foot in the starting stall gates. 

On scales J Duffy rider of Sunny which was having its first run from a spell today but performed poorly explained that the gelding hung out throughout.  A subsequent veterinary examination of Sunny revealed no abnormalities.    Ms J Hussey trainer of the gelding was notified that a warning would be placed against Sunny for its performance today. 

On scales D Oliver rider of Ally The Great explained that the filly hung out badly from shortly after straightening and as a result he eased Ally The Great down over the concluding stages.  A subsequent veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.  Mr P Gelagotis trainer of the filly was notified that Ally The Great is suspended from racing until such time it performs to the satisfaction of Stewards in an official trial. 

Race 7ben davey plumbing coutnry showcase bm78 handicap - 1200 metres: 

Co-trainer Lee and Shannon Hope were fined $50 for the late notification of D Dunn as the rider of Guru Bob (NZ). 

Over the concluding stages Spirit Cent which had a tendency to lay in had difficulty obtaining clear running between Blatherskite and Jayconi which was shifting outwards. 

Randall layed in (NZ) over the concluding stages. 

A Darmanin rider of Fermino Courage explained that he felt that there was something amiss with the gelding’s action throughout the race.   As Fermino Courage had left the course Ms Haworth will be contacted to ascertain how the gelding pulled up after the run.    

Race 8mighty mites services country showcase f&m 0-68 HANDICAP - 1100 metres:

Seraphee and Martindale Hall both jumped away awkwardly and lost ground. 

From prior to the home turn and until approaching the 100m Martindale Hall was held up for clear running. 

Near the 200m Madame Sleeper was momentarily held up for clear running. 

C Newitt rider of Angels In Me which gave ground in the straight explained that the mare overraced in the early stages and this in his opinion this contributed to Angels In Me not finishing off the race today. 

S King rider of Seraphee which had performed below market expectations could offer no explanation for the filly’s performance today.  S King further explained that Seraphee pulled up in a normal manner. 

Race 9centrebet.com get out 0-68 HANDICAP - 1400 metres: 

On jumping away Attivita shifted in taking Hezacruiser in onto Formidable Force which had to be steadied as a result. 

Dark Flash jumped away awkwardly. 

In the early and middle stages Bullioh and Distillery (NZ) both overraced. 

For the majority of the race Attivita (NZ) was obliged to race wide without cover. 

Prior to and rounding the home turn Formidable Force had some difficulty in obtaining clear running. 

Shortly after straightening Bullioh which had been held up for a clear run shifted inwards before being straightened by its rider.  When shifting in Bullioh tightened the running of Formidable Force. 

Near the 300m Stynes was hampered when tightened for room by Wannajewel which had a tendency to lay out and Hezacruiser.  During this incident Stynes brushed the hindquarters of Hezacruiser unbalancing that gelding.    

S King rider of Oratorium which performed below market expectations explained that the gelding which was first up today did not respond to his riding over the concluding stages and may benefit from today’s race.  A subsequent veterinary examination of Oratorium revealed no abnormalities. 

L Nolan rider of Attivita (NZ) which also performed below market expectations explained that in his opinion the mare may have not been suited to today’s track conditions.  A subsequent veterinary examination of the mare revealed no abnormalities. 

B Rawiller rider of Toy Master explained that in the early stages the gelding was reluctant to stretch out.
