Danny O’Brien thinks he has a very good horse on his hands in Shamexpress.
O'Brien noted he was having a “throw at the stumps” in Sydney tomorrow by taking on Sydney’s 3YO elite with Shamexpress in the $1 million Golden Rose at Rosehill Gardens.
“He’s a lovely horse – we really like him,” O’Brien told TVN today.
“He ran super at Caulfield last time so we thought we’d give him a chance at the big money in Sydney.”
Shamexpress has raced just four times, for an impressive four-length debut win at Flemington before running second on slow ground at Sportingbet Park.
He ran fifth in the Sires Produce won by All Too Hard before flashing home and catching everyone’s eye in the McNeil Stakes at Caulfield three weeks ago.
“We’ll bring him back for the Caulfield Guineas after tomorrow,” O’Brien said.
Bet365 has Shamexpress ‘safe’ in its Golden Rose market at $13.
