The first set of the new season two-year-old trials were conducted at Cranbourne this morning. TVN’s Adrian Dunn attended and relayed his thoughts suggesting the most impressive winner was a Peter Moody-trained filly by Hard Spun, called Quest For Peace. The fastest trial winner in 47.31 seconds was an Exceed And Excel colt trained by Peter Snowden called Kuroshio. The other trial winner was a Clinton McDonald-trained colt by New Approach, who ran the 800 metres in 48.67 seconds.
Cups contender Moudre ran second in an 1190-metre trial to Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes contender Shanghai Warrior earlier in the morning.
