Race 1jeremy fleming jewellers sv 3yo maiden plate - 1100 metres: After leaving the mounting yard Delvanna was reluctant to proceed to the barrier stalls and as a result on a number of occasions B. Higgins its rider, dismounted to enable the filly to proceed to the gates.  This was unable to be done and as a result Delvanna arrived riderless at the barriers.  B. Higgins was reluctant to ride the filly and Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Delvanna at 1.00 p.m. with the following betting deductions:

All monies bet for a win and/or place and concession betting on the late scratching to be refund. 

All successful bets on horses prior to time of withdrawal are subject to the following deductions in the dollar from the face value of the ticket:  win bets: 4 cents; place bets (1) 4 cents; place bets (2) 4 cents; place bet(s 3) 5 cents;

Mr P. Dalziel, co-trainer of Delvanna, was notified that the filly was now suspended from racing until such time as Delvanna trials to the satisfaction of Stewards.

As a result of this the start of the race was delayed.

Correct weight was delayed as K. Bradley, rider of Comedy Kid, second placegetter, requested to view the patrol film of the start before deciding not to lodge an objection.

Comedy Kid was slow to begin.
Ebony Flight began awkwardly.

Near the 900 metres Barbara’s Girl had to be eased when tightened for room by Comedy Kid which was taken in by Ebony Flight which shifted in and away from Tabasco Force.

Near the 200 metres Barbara’s Girl shifted in abruptly when laying in resulting in Denitza, which was racing to that filly’s inside, shifting in and making contact with the running rail. 

Barbara’s Girl continued to lay in for the remainder of the race placing its rider, J. Todd, at a disadvantage in riding the filly out.

Denitza and Barbara’s Girl raced greenly throughout.

Race 2the esplanade resort f & m 0-58 handicap - 1430 metres:  Speedy Emma raced wide for the majority of the race without cover.
When giving ground passing the 300 metres Just layed out towards the heels of Rick’s Lady and became unbalanced. Noble Twostep, which was following, was hampered as a consequence.

Subsequent to the event the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon reported that Eleusinian was suffering from the thumps and Not Beneficial had a slower than normal recovery rate and coughing.

Race 3traralgon cup sun 9 december maiden plate - 1900 metres:  On jumping away Rainbow Hussonet had to be steadied off the heels of Deebond which shifted out. 
Approaching the 400 metres Dramatique and My Brother Trent became unbalanced when tightened for room between Hacksaw and Evastar, both of which shifted ground.

J. Duffy, rider of Out Of Dubai which finished a distant last, explained that in the early stages of the race his mount hung in badly and that approaching the 1100 metres, the right side rein dislodged from the bit  resulting in Out Of Dubai shifting towards the inside running rail at the rear of the field and remained in that position throughout the race.  Subsequently Mr B. Beecroft, trainer of Out Of Dubai was notified that the gelding was now suspended from racing until such time as it trials to the satisfaction of Stewards. 
Stewards did not take any action against Mr Beecroft regarding the rein dislodging from the bit as the pin pulled through the buckle and could not attribute any blame to Mr Beecroft.

Race 4norris hair maiden plate - 1200 metres: Prince Valiant was slow to begin and shortly after the start, faltered.
La Saverne raced wide for the majority of the race without cover.
Rounding the home turn and in the early part of the straight Wokpool was held up when unable to obtain a clear run.
Rounding the home turn until straightening My McMate was held up when unable to obtain a clear run before gaining a tight run to the inside of Tap In Birdie near the 200 metres.
Over the final 100 metres Prince Valiant was held up for a clear run.
Over the final 100 metres My McMate layed out under pressure.
Over the concluding stages J. Bayliss, rider of La Saverne (second placegetter) dropped his right rein.
A post race veterinary examination of Tycoon Warrior revealed the gelding to be sore behind.  Mr J. Hunter, trainer of Tycoon Warrior, was notified that a Veterinary Certificate would be required prior to the gelding racing again.

Race 5pba tax 0-58 handicap - 1200 metres: Prior to the race Mr K. Keys, trainer of It’s Lumsden, informed the Stewards that they will be attempting to ride the gelding quieter from its wide barrier as compared to its most recent race start where it raced in a handy position. It’s Lumsden was able to gain cover and raced in a handy position.
King Sudurka bounded on jumping away and lost ground.
In the early and middle stages Mt Sugarloaf overraced.
Urban Gypsy raced wide for the majority of the race without cover.
Approaching the 600 metres Vinge Grande became unbalanced when tightened for room between Amazing Warrior and Our Henry which shifted out when racing ungenerously.
Rounding the home turn and in the early part of the straight Mt Sugarloaf and Vinge Grande were held up when unable to obtain clear runs.
After passing the 200 metres Vinge Grande had some difficulty in gaining clear running.

Race 6the doc shop bm72 hANDICAP - 1200 metres: Mr R. Pecora, trainer of Octavanus, was fined $200.00 for his late notification of R. Maloney as the gelding’s rider which was lodged on race morning.
Tackleberry jumped away awkwardly.
After passing the 600 metres Octavanus had a tendency to lay out.

Race 7TRARALGON VET CENTRE 0-62 HANDICAP - 1900 metres: Aggregator jumped away awkwardly and lost a little ground.
In the early and middle stages Chadra Boy got its head up when overracing.

Race 8BLACKWOODS 0-68 HANDICAP - 1430 metres: A. Austen was severely reprimanded for failing to arrive on course to fulfil his engagement on You’rejokingme. As no senior rider was available Stewards permitted apprentice L. Londregan to ride the gelding.
Approaching the 1400 metres Flying Kyle overraced.
Near the 1100 metres Skalatoson got its head up when being restrained.
In the early stages First Course overraced.
When the pace slackened passing the 1000 metres Eagle Has Landed got its head up and had to be checked off the heels of Benambra.
Primo Lago, which was following also got its head up.
Approaching the 800 metres First Course, which was overracing, shifted out from behind Anabaa Kid to avoid that horse’s heels.
Rounding the home turn Umanugget, Battles End and You’rejokingme were held up when unable to obtain a clear run.
Approaching the 100 metres You’rejokingme was disappointed for a run between Flying Kyle and First Course which shifted out under pressured.
Over the concluding stages First Course was inconvenienced when taken out by Anabaa Kid.
