BRAD Rawiller is on track to become the first jockey to ride 100 winners in Victoria this season after a winning treble today at Flemington.
Rawiller’s hattrick - the Mick Kent-trained Goldslick and Danish Whikey and Lord Of Brazil - took his season’s tally to 88.
It is 12 more than his nearest rival Dean Yendell and 29 more than third-placed Glen Boss, whose win on First Command saw him extend his lead in the metropolitan premiership to 16 over Luke Nolen.
Significantly, Rawiller has ridden more than 50 winners since mid-November.
While he could easily bring up his century before the end of the month, the mid-way point of the season, Rawiller said the most telling part of his spectacular season is his success in the city.
Rawiller has ridden 21 winners in town this season, good enough for equal fourth on the premiership and with a ladder-leading strike rate of 18.1%.
Last season Rawiller rode 25 city winners.
“Riding winners in town is what it is all about,” Rawiller said.
