Early results from day 1 of the Magic Millions Yearling Sale on the Gold Coast have seen Gai Waterhouse very active.

After just 80 Lots sold, she had purchased seven yearlings, including the top priced lot of $500,000 for a filly by super-sire Fastnet Rock out of Legally Bay, the dam of Jolie Bay.

She purchased that filly with James Harron Bloodstock, and they combined later to spend $330,000 for another Fastnet Rock filly out of Livelifeoflove.

Peter Moody bought Lot 1 for $180,000, a Sebring colt out of La Goulue as well as paying $210,000 for a Charge Forward colt from Matinee.

Fellow Caulfield trainer Mick Price went to $200,000 to buy a Street Cry colt out of Miss Rangoom, while local trainer Dan Bougoure, the man who trained great sprinter Falvelon, paid a massive $400,000 for the filly out of Miss Kournikova (Oakleigh Plate winner) by Snitzel.
