Wide gate no problem for All Too Hard

A wide barrier draw for boom colt All Too Hard hasn’t bothered fixed-odds operators wagering on Saturday’s Group 1 $500,000 Australian Guineas (1600m).

When the field came out this morning All Too Hard came up with barrier 14 of 17, yet he is still quoted a raging hot $1.33 favourite in fixed odds markets.

A measure of his dominance in the Guineas is the fact the second favourite, Albrecht, is marked a $17 chance.

Other well-fancied runners who drew wide include Sheer Talent for Mark Kavanagh, who came up with the outside gate in 17, and Greg Eurell’s pair Force Command and Hosting, who drew gates 15 and 16 respectively.

Conversely Albrecht drew perfectly in gate five giving him a real chance to turn his form around in a high-profile Group 1 race.
