CLARRY Conners’ unbeaten filly Assail gave Craig Williams the feel of a Golden Slipper contender.

Williams was effusive in his praise for Assail, the second favourite for the $2 million Magic Millions 2YO Classic at $3.70 with, after riding her in an exhibition gallop yesterday at Warwick Farm.

He said he was impressed with the filly’s relaxed disposition, the effortless way she was able to quicken and the feel she gave him.

“She is a high quality filly,” declared Williams.

“The way she worked you would be happy if you were going towards the (Golden) Slipper. The way that she felt and her attitude ... she is a very good filly.

“I was rapt with the way she went. She is better than a Magic Millions horse, she is a high quality filly.

“I’d be happy in a Blue Diamond or a Golden Slipper the way that she felt. She is good.”

Williams said he’d watched the video replays of Clevadude, also unbeaten in its two starts, and was taken how “big and powerful” he appeared.

“My filly is not big, but she has a great head on her shoulders and she has great ability,” he added.
